Project Horizon is an OpenWorld, exploration based survival game. I know...Original. Jokes aside this is a passion project and is intended to be a game that I personally enjoy playing. Very early in development (2 weeks so far) and the first game I have ever released.

That being said we are still open to ideas and welcome criticism and the initial release of the game will be a great place to gather feedback from the community on what is working and fun, along with all the not so fun features and bugs degrading the experience

*PRESS 4 to bring up the options menu to lower settings to run smoother if needed*

May need to press 'reset to defaults' to enable the buttons, bugs occasionally

Huge thanks to Yehor Misko being head programmer and the Third person kit from the unreal engine marketplace for making prototyping extremely efficient.

Ammo crates are around the map in multicolor box stacks, ammo does not regen on death currently this will be something added in future updates and eventually weapons will be removed on respawn and dropped at death location when we reach a more survival like game state.

Control List (Shortened version in game):

WASD Movement, mouse to look and shoot

Right mouse button to aim, left to shoot

1 - Switch to Pistol

2 - Switch to Rifle

3 - Switch to special (Shotgun atm)

Q - Punch, multiple presses will combo

Shift + Q - Jump kick to knock down enemies

Ctrl - Crouch

Shift + Ctrl - Slide

C - Roll

Space - Jump

The game is still very early in development and as such has many issues that are being actively addressed known issues:

Zombies occasionally throw grenades...Scaryy

Due to behavior tree errors some zombies when spotting the player will crouch briefly then continue normally chasing the player

When shooting further away the bullets are not centered on the crosshair rather go left very slightly. Does not occur if player is aiming down sights although ads has its own issues.

Zombies attack very slowing sometimes, Also stand still while in front of the player more often than not.

Under extremely rare circumstances where the player jumps while punching and gets hit by a knockback attack and pushed while on the ground the player will become stuck until the player is killed.

Hello,

I had the opportunity to test the game for several hours and I find that the fluidity of movement is good, the same goes for shooting with the weapons, which I find very intuitive. Personally, I'm tired of open worlds, which I feel have been too prevalent in the past 10 years, but setting that aside, this game is very enjoyable and has a bright future ahead of it. I cannot offer criticism on the design and animation since it's a very early project. I'm looking forward to following the development further and participating in other playtests.

Hello Thomas,

I really appreciate you taking the time to write a thorough review of the demo! I am excited that you were able to play for several hours, I hope those hours were enjoyable!

I do agree the open world genre has been overdone the past several years, however with this project I hope that we can pull off a more enjoyable open world experience since I feel this project does lend itself to a more spacious world but I do plan on adding a story that hopefully gives the player more purpose and something to achieve along with side objectives. This is very much a work in progress idea since the core of the game will be a survival zombie shooter focused on exploration, but the idea of a story and objectives alongside is exciting.

As for more updates on what is to come there is a roadmap/ devlog linked under 'development log' if you would like to see what is to come!

Again thank you for providing some feedback Thomas! I would love to continue hearing your thoughts throughout development!
